Publicity Contest Notice

This form must be completed by every natural or legal person for whom a publicity contest is carried out, in which the total value of the prizes exceeds $100. As stipulated in subparagraph (b) of section 1 of the Act respecting lotteries, publicity contests and amusement machines, every operation carried on for the object of promoting the commercial interests of the person for whom it is carried on, and which results in the awarding of a prize, including discounts or bonuses in limited quantities, is a publicity contest. The prizes may be awarded in different ways: random draw, wheel of chance, scratch cards, vouchers requiring validation, jury vote, public vote, test of skill, etc. Where the total value of the prizes exceeds $2,000, the contest notice must be accompanied by the text of any advertisement used, and by the contest rules.
